Violet - one of the most common indoor flowering plants. Its unpretentious, decorative foliage and flowers, a variety of shapes and sizes - all this was the cause of the constant growth of interest in this plant. In many cities, clubs of connoisseurs of these flowers are created, where people share their success in growing Saintpaulia, talk about new varieties, including their own selection.
Every year dozens of new varieties and hybrids of violets appear. Breeding a new variety is interesting and unpredictable, because it is often difficult to predict the result of crossing two parent plants. The results of this hard work are such pearls of varietal diversity, like violets of the Ukrainian breeder Svetlana Repkina.
Story
Svetlana has been cultivating violets since 1999, her collection includes more than 800 varieties and hybrids. And since 2001, Svetlana took up the independent breeding of new varieties. So there were its first novelties “Favorite” and “Transparent stream”.
Every year new varieties became more and more and they reliably took their place in the hearts and collections of gardeners. Over 200 varieties of authorship of Svetlana Repkina were bred, and 20 of them are registered in AVSA - an international association that issues copyright certificates for new varieties of Saintpaulias.
Most varieties of this breeder are distinguished by large flowers, good adaptability to environmental conditions (lighting, humidity, temperature).

Depending on the conditions in which the inflorescences were laid, the color of the petals can vary considerably. The hotter and drier the climate, the more pink in the petals. In cold weather, the flowers are almost white, with occasional patches of pale pink.
"Refined taste"
The outlet is medium in size (about 30 cm) in light green. The flowers are very large (up to 7 cm), simple and semi-double, wavy on the edge of the petals. The color of the buds is white, with soft peach prints. Peduncles long and powerful, each with 4-5 buds. The cap is sprawling, which allows you to see and view each flower. The variety has a long flowering. The life of each flower for at least 6 weeks.
"RS-Sophisticated taste" unpretentious in the care. Feels good, both on the windowsill, and when grown on shelves with additional light. At reproduction by a leaf it transfers its varietal qualities well. Easily rooted and gives a large number of babies.
The first bloom of violet comes in 7-8 months after planting. As flowering, old buds are removed. If the buds were formed at an elevated temperature, the petals will be pink, at a lower temperature - almost white, with pale pink prints.

2009 breeding variety. The socket is small, with upright cuttings. The leaf is large, hard, slightly wavy along the edge, so it seems that there are a lot of them. The flowers are simple, semi-double, very large. The color of the petals is dark purple. The edges are very wavy, curly, a few shades lighter than the petal itself.
The variety is abundant and long-flowering, the cap is dense, does not fall apart. At the first flowering most of the flowers without pronounced curliness. These varietal characteristics appear fully in the second and third flowering.
"RS-Georgette" very spectacular and decorative Saintpaulia. The color of the petals does not depend on the temperature during the budding process.
"Golden Dragon"
The rosette is large with large, slightly wavy leaves, leaf stalks reaching upwards. All this could create the effect of bulky, if the flowers were smaller. But the "PC-Golden Dragon" pleases with huge double flowers up to 8 cm in diameter. Therefore, in general, the plant looks harmonious.
The color of the petals is white with lemon prints.. Closer to the center, the hue is more saturated. Yellow tint is already evident at the first flowering. In the second - it becomes more saturated. I am glad that yellow remains yellow without turning to dirty brown, which often happens with other varieties of this color range.
After the first flowering, the plant begins to "grow the trunk", and after the second it is necessary to rejuvenate the bush, otherwise the following flowers may not be seen.
“PC-Golden Dragon” actively responds to changes in lighting. The less light, the more vertically are the leaves. When grown on shelves with additional light, the stalks can be “pressed” down with additional lighting.
