Lunar calendar gardener and gardener in 2019 for the Urals

Since ancient times, mankind has used the movement of celestial bodies to mark important points for agriculture: planting and harvest time.

The article focuses on the features of the lunar planting calendar of the florist and gardener of the Urals in 2019.

How do moon phases affect plant growth?

Most plants consist of water by more than 80%, so the attraction of the Moon has on them, as well as on the water in water bodies, a significant influence. During high tide, the maximum amount of water appears in the soil, which provides moisture and nutrients for plant growth.

And in the descending phase, the moisture leaves, and the juices descend to the roots. In the motion of the moon, there are 4 phases. Each of them lasts about 7 days. The first two are phases of growth. They last from new moon to full moon. The next 2 phases are the decrease of the star with the return from the full moon to the point of the new moon.

Important! Due to the difference in the Earth’s rotations (around the Sun, around its axis), it is almost impossible to come up with a universal reliable calendar. Therefore, most calendars use the so-called "intercalary" days, which bring the system in line with the southern tropical year.

Choosing time for these or other works, follow the following rules:

  1. Waxing Crescent - time for planting all plants that grow on the surface of the earth.
  2. Decreasing - The best planting time for root crops, bulbous and all that the edible part is in the ground.
  3. When the new moon or full moon, neither sow nor plant plants are not recommended. The pause begins 12 hours before the onset of such a period and ends 12 hours after its end.
  4. In the days when the moon is off course, gardening work is also not planned.
  5. Full moon - ideal for harvesting.
  6. New moon - the time when you can plan the repair of inventory or cleaning of the territory.
The amount of moonlight at different times also affects plant growth. As the light increases (new moon and second quarter), leaf growth is stimulated. After a full moon, the amount of light decreases, putting energy into the roots of plants. At this time, the growth of above-ground vines and leaves slows down. And at the same time, roots and bulbous grow better.

Period of the waning moon

With a full moon, the seeds begin to germinate, and the planted plants develop more actively. At this moment it is good to cut the branches, to carry out work on planting trees and bushes. You can also fertilize the soil, to conduct additional watering to moisture-loving plants.

Favorable and unfavorable days for planting

The Chinese lunar calendar takes into account the concept of "favorable" or better days for any event, as well as adverse. In the sowing calendar, those days are favorable which contribute to the best growth of plants of a particular group. For their definition, the phases and zodiac signs, through which the star passes, are taken into account.

The signs of the zodiac belong to one of four elements: water, air, fire and earth. Each of them are assigned certain properties. In the period when the satellite of the Earth is between the signs, you should not do anything. This is a time for relaxation or other non-garden work.

Important! The ancient Jewish calendar also follows the lunar cycles, and therefore Easter and other religious holidays fall on different dates each year.

Water signs - Cancer, Fish and Scorpio are considered favorable for deciduous plants, as well as optimal for planting any crops. The best days of planting deciduous plants will be water signs in combination with the growing Moon.

Earth signs - Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn - are good for everything related to roots, including for work on transplanting or planting trees and bushes. The optimal time for work is the combination of an earthen mark with a decreasing phase. Air signs considered fruitless and dry. The exception to the rule is Libra. They are semi-fertile and good for flowers and ornamental plants. The second exception is melons and onions, which grow well in the sign of Aquarius. For the period of the influence of air signs plan harvesting and tillage activities.

Fire signs - Leo, Aries, Sagittarius - are considered very dry and are infertile. But they also have exceptions. At this time, grain, sunflower and other crops are well developed, the harvest of which consists of seeds. For the same period, weed control and the collection of vegetables and fruits are planned.

Seedlings

January is the month when active work in the garden or on the site is not carried out. But at this time you can do planning, decide which crops to grow and where, as well as prepare inventory. Start with a sketch of the site. Pay attention to the location of buildings, the location of sidewalks, trees and any other objects.

Think about how each element affects the plot. Mark the shaded areas. Most fruit crops need at least 6 hours of sunshine. In the shade, they will show the minimum possible yield or not show it at all. In February, buy soil for seedlings, containers, determine the varieties for growing and buy seeds. Growing seedlings in early spring - from March to April. Also at this time there is a landing of greenhouse crops.

Of plants

Leaf crops on the calendar are cabbage, salads, spinach, green onions, broccoli, cauliflower and celery. Leaf days are suitable for planting, transplanting and caring for plants from which leaves or stems will be obtained. But to harvest these crops these days is impossible. This is done on floral or fruit days. Fruit (fruit) days suitable for sowing, replanting and growing plants from which they intend to get fruit or seeds. These are cherries, strawberries, tomatoes, peas, beans, corn, pumpkin, walnuts, cereals, zucchini, eggplants. These days are great for harvesting. Fruits have a minimum amount of moisture, and this increases their shelf life.

The days of working with root crops are suitable for planting or caring for root crops or plants whose crop is in the ground. Among them: carrots, turnips, potatoes, beets, garlic, onions. This is the right time to put the crop in storage. Flower days - The best time for sowing, growing and picking flowers, herbs.

Tips for beginner gardeners and gardeners

Many gardeners believe that their method of sowing in accordance with the phases of the moon provides them with the best yields. And they also often share tips on how they use this technique. To plan something, pay attention to the characteristics of the lunar days you need and the actions that are best carried out in them. Also keep in mind that one cycle, from the new moon to the new moon, is called the lunar month. The average cycle duration is 29.53059 days, although in reality it can vary from 29.3 to 29.8 days. Therefore, a calendar day can begin with finding the moon in one zodiac sign, and end in another.

At the moment there is no scientific evidence that gardening in accordance with the phases of the moon provides you with the best harvest. But why not try it yourself and check it out on your own experience.
