Russian dairy products will be tested according to European standards.

EU veterinary inspectors will check the safety of Russian livestock products, including milk and dairy products supplied to EU countries, reports TASS, citing information from the Rosselkhoznadzor.

As now livestock products from Russia are deprived of the rights to be sold in supermarkets of the European Union. This is due to the fact that the results of the previous audit of dairy products were unsatisfactory due to violations of sanitary and production standards for the production of milk and other dairy products. Also a negative role was played by the lack of traceability system in Russia at all stages of dairy production: from raw materials to finished product.

The next audit related to the quality of Russian dairy products will be held in Moscow from March 8 to March 29, 2019, along with representatives of the European Commission's Directorate General for Health and Food Safety DG SANTE. In addition to dairy products, other products of animal origin, which are supplied to the European Union, will fall under the scope of inspection.

According to the results of the upcoming audit, it is planned to assess the possibility of resuming the inclusion of Russian enterprises in the relevant lists for supplying products to the EU under the guarantees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, as well as renewing the certification of three enterprises whose supplies to the EU are temporarily limited.
