Why do French farmers lose about 100 million in profits? The answer lies in ecology.

In France, on January 1, a bill came into force that provides for an increase in taxes on the use of plant protection products (CWR), which pollute the environment. French farmers began to protest and indicate to the authorities that spending on agricultural production would increase by 100 million euros.

But, despite the protests of farmers, the French Farmers Union (FNSEA) and the French government have introduced an increase in taxes on the use of pesticides. Farmers believe that in this way, the authorities made a big mistake, and the FNSEA added that no tax increase could change the disastrous situation with the country's ecology.

Now, per hectare of barley will have to pay 21 euros of tax, for wheat - 24 euros. Analysts estimate farmers' annual spending of approximately € 100 million.
