Breeding history
The variety bred the Moscow Region breeding group on several farms that conducted experiments on potato varieties. The originator is the All-Russian Research Institute of Potato Farming named after A.G. Lorch. 
In the State Register of the Russian Federation registered in 1999 with recommendations to use in the Middle Volga and Central Black Earth regions of Russia.

According to its description, the Ilyinsky potato variety is similar to most others, but it has a number of advantages.

It has an average yield: 210-295 c / ha. Under very good conditions, 350-370 centners per hectare can be collected. For ordinary gardeners to understand these numbers, let's say that you get up to 5 kg of fruit from one square meter of land.
Ilyinsky is stored very well, especially in comparison with medium-early varieties, the essence of which is to fill summer consumption without any long-term storage. The indicator of the keeping quality reaches 93%, which is a very high indicator.
The plant is practically resistant to cancer of potatoes, scab, and most viral diseases. But it is amenable to defeat by nematode and late blight superficial part.
