Japan has been fighting classical swine fever (CSF) since September 2018, when a virus was found in a wild boar in the central Gifu province.
Since then, it has spread to other Japanese pig farms. For several months, a number of pig farms had to destroy livestock.

In addition, experts continue to fix the virus among wild boars in the provinces of Gifu and Aichi. Already found 506 infected boars. At the end of March this year, the Japanese government in Gifu Prefecture announced a transition to a strategy to combat the virus by oral vaccination of a wild boar.
