Beekeeping is not a simple matter, in which without certain knowledge and experience it is quite difficult to achieve high productivity. There are various approaches and techniques for breeding these hardworking insects. Some of them are considered more simple, while others are only for professionals. Among experienced beekeepers, bees are becoming increasingly popular in western style, that is, in multi-hives. This method has many advantages and significantly reduces labor costs, of course, if everything is properly organized.
Multiple Bee Content: Increased Strength and Number of Families
Multicore content allows you to ensure that bee colonies become stronger, and their number increases significantly. This is due to the fact that such conditions are as close as possible to the natural habitat of insects, therefore, their immunity increases significantly, which, in turn, makes the bees stronger and more fertile.
Check out the benefits of using the "Boa" hive and how to create a multi-hive with your own hands.Bees feel more comfortable both in the heat and in the cold, due to the fact that this content ensures good ventilation and opens up various possibilities for warming the "high-rise house" for the winter.
How to organize the multicore content of bees
It is possible to build multi-unit beehives both independently and to purchase them in specialized stores; everything here depends on the financial possibilities and the desire of the beekeeper.
Important! When choosing wood for making a beehive, one should give preference to soft tree species, while the moisture content of the material used should not exceed 8%.It is recommended to organize the resettlement process in early spring. This period is considered more favorable, due to the fact that there is not much of a framework with brood, and there are few bees in the comb. It should be understood that the process of moving will take a lot of time, since it is necessary to completely disassemble the nests and prepare a new home for the families. It is advisable to carry out the procedure when it is warm enough outside, since at low temperatures there is a risk of catching cold.
Design and Drawings of a Multiple Beehive
They build a hive of 5-7 buildings, the number of floors depends directly on the season. Each of them is placed on 10 frames, the size of which is 435x230 mm. The dimensions of one case are 470x375x240 mm. In order to prepare the frame for a multihull hive, it is cut to 230 mm using a pruner and a sharp knife, then the lower bar and divider are nailed. As can be seen in the diagram shown below, the following components are necessary for the construction of the structure: the case itself, the extension for honey, the separator grid, the lid and liner, the transfer board, the ceiling boards and the stand.
Technology and content methods
In early spring, but preferably at a time when it is warm enough outside, the prepared and disinfected hive is located in the place of the house from which it is planned to move the bees. In the center of the body frame is placed with brood, and along the edges - perga and honey. In the hive set 10 shortened frames and move the bees there.
Important! The uterus must certainly get into the new hive, it will not be out of place to cover it with a cap while moving the frames.Upon completion of the move, the house on top is covered with ceiling boards and a warming pad. The size of the notch, depending on the strength of the family, should be 1-4 cm. When the active collection of nectar and pollen begins, you can begin to install the second body, as the uterus will actively lay eggs, and the number of bees will increase at an active rate, that is, it's time to expand family living space.
The main thing: Do not miss the moment when all 10 frames will be occupied by bees, and install the next floor, as its late installation can provoke a delay in the development of the bee family. The second building must be prepared in advance by placing there frames in which there is some honey and necessarily 2-3 frames with waxed wax. If it is not possible to complete the hive with honey frames, it is necessary to prepare 6-8 kg of sugar syrup at the rate of 1: 1. The uterus and working bees will occupy the second building when there is no room left for the eggs in the first one. Shells should be swapped only when in the second all frames are filled with bees, it is at this point that the second building is moved down, and the first is placed above it. The third body is installed between the previous two, separating it with a wrinkle frame. Due to the fact that the brood is divided into two parts, the bees begin to work more actively to restore the nest and do not swarm.
It is also allowed to install the third "floor" upstairs, but in this case it is necessary to understand that the third building will not fill up so quickly. After about a month, the third building will be filled with brood, and it is time to install the fourth. At this point, the uterus will be in the third, so it is moved to the bottom, and behind it the first, fourth, and the second are placed on top. This rearrangement is part of preparing the hive for the winter.
Multicolor content of bees during the wintering period
The bee-keeping in multi-hives, naturally, does not exclude thorough preparation of the houses for insects, it is necessary to warm them in the winter, as well as to prepare food. Honeycombs in the hive should be filled with 10 frames with strong families. If not all the frames are occupied, family reunification is allowed. In the upper case is laid 25 kg of carbohydrate foods. Honey is considered the best option, but if there is no such possibility, then sugar syrup or invert (sugar syrup with added honey) will do.
Important! In order for the bees to survive the cold painlessly, they need not only to provide food, but also to warm their house well.
A properly organized ventilation system is of great importance, since, if present, the bees will be protected from overheating, which for them is sometimes much worse than severe cold, the air temperature inside the hive should not be above +22 ° C. The bottom of the hive, as a rule, cover with foliage or sawdust.
Spring period
If the apiary is properly prepared for wintering, there will be no problems in spring, but on the contrary: the number and strength of families will increase significantly. After winter, an inspection is conducted, during which it becomes clear how much the number of bees has increased and in what condition they are. If the bees are healthy, and the families have retained or even increased their strength, the hull should be rearranged, swapping the lower and upper. Care must be taken to ensure that excessive moisture and condensation do not accumulate in the hive, for this, if necessary, the cell wall should be expanded.
The content of bees in multicase hives with the onset of summer
In early summer, it is recommended to separate the uterus, placing the grid in the lower part of the hive. After 3-4 weeks, the lower and upper hull are swapped. All enclosures should be separated by a grid, next to which frames with printed brood are installed. As a result of the rearrangement, it should turn out that the body with honey is at the very bottom, then printed and open brood, between which the uterus is placed, and then the building body is installed. In order for the hive to be well ventilated, the logs are expanded as necessary.
In order to get good volumes of honey, it is important to have honey grass near the apiary. Bruise ordinary, phacelia, coltsfoot, sweet clover (white and yellow), linden, lemon balm, safflower are referred to high-quality honey plants.
Did you know? In order to collect 1 kg of honey, one bee needs to fly out in search of nectar 60,000 times and collect it from more than 100,000 flowers. For 1 his departure workaholic visits more than 1,000 buds.
Multicase content of bees in the period of the main honey plant
The main nuance of how to keep bees in multibody hives during the honey plant is that the uterus must remain isolated. This is due to the fact that when bees bring 5–7 kg of nectar each day and fill the combs, there simply is no room left in the honeycombs for laying eggs. When the honey harvest ends, 1-2 corps are left for families with brood brood, and honey is removed in order to pump out the honey.
To pump out honey, you need a special device - honey extractor. It can be made by hand.
Multicolor content of bees in autumn
In the autumn, hygiene procedures are carried out in the hive, and they also begin intensive feeding of insects and preparing their dwellings for winter. Excess corps clean.
Honey is considered the best for feeding bees. However, if it is not possible to feed the bees with honey, other feed substitutes come to the rescue: honey fed, candi, sugar syrup.
Care for bees placed in multicase hives
Thanks to the convenient design of multi-hives, it is easy and simple to care for bees, and the beekeeping methods are suitable for both small and large, industrial apiaries. Among the main treatments for care can be identified:
- timely correct feeding;
- preparation for winter;
- spring inspection;
- isolation of the uterus;
- collecting honey;
- regular rearrangement of cases.
Did you know? The bees, which were born in the autumn-winter period, live for 195-210 days, and the individuals who were born in the summer live only 30-60 days, this is due to the fact that they immediately begin their active work, not having time to get stronger, and their vitality dries out very quickly. But the uterus live long enough in comparison with working bees - for 4-5 years.Experts in the field of beekeeping can not come to a consensus on which method of keeping bees to be considered the most effective and productive, and even emphasize that the number of buildings or the size of the framework very indirectly affect the amount of honey and the strength of bee colonies. The most important thing is to provide insects with high-quality food and create comfortable conditions for them in the hives, and which way to give preference can be solved only by relying on our experience and capabilities.
